Default manufacturers​

When you install Mecaparts for the first time, the 35 most popular manufacturers are activated by default. These include leading brands like Audi, BMW, Toyota, and others, giving you a great starting point for your catalog.

You have full control to activate or deactivate manufacturers based on the parts you sell. This flexibility ensures that your store remains tailored to your business needs, focusing only on the vehicles and parts that matter to you.

Why is this important?​

Activating or deactivating manufacturers directly impacts how Mecaparts works for you:

  • Vehicle Selectors: Manufacturers you activate will populate the vehicle selector extension in Mecaparts, enabling your customers to easily filter and find compatible parts by make, model, and engine type.
  • Automatic Updates: If you activate a manufacturer like Audi, all its models and engine configurations will be automatically added to your catalog—no manual effort required.
  • Existing Products: Parts already in your store that match the activated manufacturer will become instantly queryable, simplifying catalog management and search functionality.

How to activate a manufacturer?​

  1. Navigate to the manufacturers tab.
  2. Click on the "Draft" tab to display disabled manufacturers.
  3. Click the "+" button next to the manufacturer you want to add.

Once a manufacturer is activated, Mecaparts automatically adds all its models and engine configurations, making them immediately available for use in your store.
